COCODY: Houston’s Newest Culinary Gem, Where Art Meets Gastronomy

Houston, TX – March 1, 2024 – Cocody, the latest addition to Houston’s fine-dining scene, promises an unparalleled culinary experience that seamlessly merges artistry with gastronomy. Nestled in the upscale suburb of River Oaks, Cocody invites guests on a journey of culinary exploration and contemporary sophistication unlike any other.

Founded by Edwin and Edith Bosso, Cocody is the culmination of a lifelong dream inspired by their travels from their native Ivory Coast to the culinary capitals of London and Paris. With a vision to bring the essence of Parisian fine dining to Houston, the Bossos enlisted the expertise of renowned chefs David Denis and Lionel Debon, along with sommelier/general manager Sylvain Denis, all former partners of Houston’s esteemed Mystal.

“Cocody is our gift to Houston,” says Edwin Bosso. “It’s a place to write home about, where every detail reflects the passion and talent of all those involved.”

The name “Cocody” pays homage to the Bosso’s Ivorian heritage, as well as to the iconic reggae- infused song “Cocody Rock” by Alpha Blondy. Drawing inspiration from diverse cultural influences, Cocody’s ambiance and cuisine offer a unique blend of sophistication and playfulness.

Leading the architectural and interior design of Cocody is Texas Architect Winn Wittman, AIA, known for his innovative and award-winning designs. Collaborating with interior designer Nina Magon, the team has created a space that transcends traditional boundaries, incorporating elements from around the world to craft an atmosphere of opulence and elegance.

“The intention was to infuse an atmosphere of playfulness and opulence into the entire space,” says Magon.

From the moment guests step into Cocody, they are enveloped in an ambiance of refined charm and sophistication. The main dining room, adorned with crystal lights and luxurious furnishings, sets the stage for an extraordinary culinary experience. Custom-designed features such as the “liquor chandelier,” crafted to hold over 5,000 pounds of liquor bottles, add to the restaurant’s unique charm.

In the kitchen, Chef Denis and Chef Debon work their magic, employing cutting-edge techniques to create dishes that are as visually stunning as they are delicious. With a commitment to sourcing the freshest ingredients and reducing their carbon footprint, Cocody’s culinary team ensures that each dish is a masterpiece of flavor and presentation.

For those seeking an exclusive dining experience, Cocody offers a chef’s table where guests can indulge in off-menu delicacies while enjoying a front-row view of the kitchen’s culinary artistry.

Cocody represents a fusion of culinary excellence, artistic expression, and cultural inspiration, inviting guests to embark on a gastronomic journey like no other.
